| | March 12, 2010 Pathfinder Property Tellurium Assessment
|
| | March 12, 2010 - Kingsman Resources Inc reports the results of a preliminary investigation for tellurium mineralization on the Pathfinder Property, located 18 km north of Grand Forks in southern British Columbia. The investigation was conducted by Donald G. Strachan, Consulting Geologist with World Industrial Minerals Inc. at Carson City, Nevada. This firm is conducting a research project for potential tellurium-bearing mineral deposits.
Tellurium often occurs as a telluride of gold with other elements such as silver, bismuth, copper and lead. Tellurium is used in steel and copper alloys and in the memory disk industry. More recently, tellurium's photovoltaic properties have been used in the growing "thin film" solar panel industry. Recent contracts for tellurium have ranged as high as US$250.00 per kg.
For this project, surface exposures on the Pathfinder Property were examined, a suite of eleven well-mineralized grab samples were collected and analyzed with the initial objective of determining if tellurium is present in the Au-Ag-Cu mineralization. The Pathfinder samples were collected from low-grade dumps, rock piles, and from an erratic float boulder. Analyses for the samples ranged from 11.0 to 315.0 ppm tellurium for four quartz-pyrite-pyrrhotite samples collected from the Bertha and Diamond Hitch showings; seven other partially oxidized quartz-pyrite samples with or without minor galena and pyrrhotite from the Pathfinder showings were barren for tellurium. Gold was prevalent in all eleven samples ranging from 244ppb to a high of 85.79 g/t.
At this stage, the mineralogy and mode of occurrence of the tellurium-bearing samples within the geological framework of the Pathfinder mineralized system have not been studied, and as a result, no meaningful geological interpretation can be formulated. This preliminary recognition of tellurium presence in the Bertha-Diamond Hitch mineralization is interesting, and indicates that further systematic sampling of mineralized zones and geological evaluation are warranted to confirm the mode of occurrence and geological potential for tellurium.
All samples were analyzed by International Plasma Labs Ltd. of Richmond BC. Tellurium values were determined using a multi-acid digestion with an ICP finish. Gold values were first determined using a Fire assay fusion with an AA finish. Any gold values greater than 1000ppb were reanalyzed with a Fire assay fusion and a gravimetric finish.
